Since 2011, EMP has helped businesses and organizations find a better way to manage the technology they no longer need. Based in Northwest Ohio and serving organizations throughout the Great Lakes region, we help give retired electronics their best next step, whether that's reuse, asset recovery or responsible recycling. But the story behind EMP started long before 2011.
Rob Bruno has worked in IT since he was 18 years old, 47 years spent watching technology evolve, businesses change and yesterday's newest equipment become tomorrow's surplus. Barb Bruno spent much of her career in politics, building relationships throughout Northwest Ohio and learning something equally important: good business is built on trust. Those two worlds came together at EMP.
What started as a local family business has grown into a recycling partner for businesses, schools, government agencies and organizations across the region. And we're still growing.
Today, EMP is still a family business and now there are grandkids watching it grow. That makes the mission personal. We want to build a successful company, help more organizations find responsible solutions for their retired technology, keep useful equipment in circulation when possible, and recycle what has truly reached the end of its life.
We don't believe bigger has to mean impersonal. Real people answer our phones. We know our customers. And when something doesn't fit neatly into a box, we'll help figure it out.
That's something we intend to protect as EMP grows. Because the technology may change, but the way you treat people shouldn't.
